I've been recommended time and time again recently the AKG K550. I think I may pull the trigger. I am looking to see if someone thinks they can talk me out of it.

If you want accurate sound, how about the Sony MDR-V6 or MDR-7506? This headphone is favorite of radio stations, recording studios, and movie and tv production. It is extremely sturdy. My V6 is 24 years old and still works fine. I just needed to replace the earpads once. It is one of the most accurate, natural sounding headphones. It is $80 at J&R(the V6 model). I hope you can get it cheaper than that.
