Hi folks,

New to this website- I've been looking around for a nice portable headphone amp to go with a pair of Grado SR325i headphones. The Grados have a 1/4 inch connection. Does anyone think it's better to get a 1/4 to 1/8" adaptor, or is there a good amp that's relatively portable that'll take a 1/4" headphone plug?

My budget is around $500 for the headphones and the amp, so the amp needs to be less than $200.

Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
E

Grado (and probably others) make a very nice adapter with a flexible cable between the 1/4" and 1/8" ends.  I've found that the straight/solid ones can put a lot of stress on the socket in the amp.
