I'm a newbie and a new member here.   I just bought some Audeze LCD-X, and would like to send a better source signal to them than what my phone and computer provide while I'm on the road.   So, I would love a recommendation for a small, portable, battery powered DAC/amp that I could pair with both my iPhone 5 or Macbook Pro.

I've been doing some searching, but I'm not sure that I've been able to find what I need, which is this:

- Battery or device powered.
- Relatively small.
- Preferably not more than $300.
- Perhaps some basic EQ?

Does such a thing exist?

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate the help.

I haven't heard of any DAC/amp all in one solutions that'll work with an iPhone that cost less than $500+ USD. The cheapest option would probably be a V-Moda Vamp Verza for your iPhone, but it's still above your budget. To power my LCD XC (before I sold it) at my desktop I was using a Schiit Vali amp paired with a Schiit Modi DAC. My portable solution only used an amp since ipods already have a decent built in DAC. Here are some pictures of my portable:
