Been looking for a pair of closed headphones for portable use. I have been looking at these. Custom One Pros, Shure SRH440/840 and Sony Prestige MDR-1R. I mostly listen to Metal, acoustic and dubstep. So what ones would you say would suit my needs more? Also i would be open to suggestions.

Not really a fan of sennheiser to be honest mate.

Any particular reason?

They make some really good portables, each of which has a different sound signature than the others.
The Momentum (mentioned above), the Amperior, and the HD25 I ii - the original or the new version in aluminum.

The V Moda Crossfade M80 is another good choice..

The Shure 840's are a good choice for the types of music you mentioned,
and good sounding all around.
Only thing - to me, anyway - is that they're large; hardly "portable".
They are a pretty big set of headphones and not light in weight either.
But if you can deal with that, go for them.

As for portability, they fold up for storage. No big deal IMO

Yeah i heard that but if i don't like them i can send them back. Three times in the next month i am travelling "plane" back and forward from UK to the US so that will be something like 10hours journey
