The Predator, the Pico, and the IBasso are all very well regarded, but I'm wondering if there's a portable AMP + USB DAC out there using a NOS (non-oversampling) DAC implementation.

Do headphiles not like NOS DACs?

Some people prefer the sound of NOS DACs. Others don't. It's personal preference.

Perhaps there's a market for portable NOS DAC + amp units, rather than oversampling DAC + amp units. Would love it if the Pico had such an option.

IVE  been searching for this also, with no success.  using the 1543 off a 12 volt high current battery with low noise makes it sound great, great paired with AUDIO BRAVO upgraded NOS tube amp, very liquid and old fat JBL like sound through good earphones or headphones...
