I was thinking of getting an amp suited for my livewire trips, however my speakers for my turntable need an amp too. So was thinking instead of buying both at one shot, could i use the headphone amp for my sound system as a temporary sort of thing. I know it wouldn't work as well, considering the different voltage levels and what not, but would it spoil the amp?

more info needed, but unless you get a very powerful headamp and have very efficient speakers its not gonna work. the trips are very low impedance and I mean VERY low so if you get one amp to do both you'll end up with an amp that doesnt do either very well; they are 2 extremely different needs.

The four that I can think of:
1) Nuforce Icon - preamp, dac, in: line/RCA/usb, out: line/headphone/speaker
2) Travagans Red - in: RCA, out: headphone/speaker
3) Travagans Green - in: USB, out: headphone/speaker
4) Bantam XC2 - in: RCA, out: headphone/speaker

thanks! will check those out. it's just a temporary measure, as long as it doesn't spoil my amp.

Find an old receiver and a relatively large impedance adapter. Like qusp said, this is hard, and the adapter is a compromise, as they are two very different needs.
