Today I am using a Cowon 7 16Gb. It is nice in many ways, but it is a bit short on memory. What else is out there that has 32Gb, or preferably more, and plays flac? Flac is essential as I have my complete music collection ripped and compressed as flac.

SFLO:2 has 16GB on board an an SDHC slot that will accept the new 32 Gb SDHC cards.

Giving it a total of 48Gb at one time but allowing you to swap SDHC cards for as much space as you want.

It also plays -8 .flac files without a hitch

Thank you for the list of available players!
I will also wait for the new Cowon J3 to see what it's like. I have had a couple of iAudios and been happy with them, so maybe that's the one.
I will read the S:flo2 thread. Seems interesting soundwise, but a bit buggy... Where can I buy it?

But, an iAudio 7 with 64Gb would be ideal. The form factor is perfect. Oh well...

Don't think he did.

Especially if you're on a budget, I'd definitely recommend an 80GB 5.5G iPod.

all that mention are only possible capacities of ssd...

16,32 and 64....

but then, i suppose it doesn't really matter...well ssd is much much faster to read

Not everyone can afford an SSD, and the 32gb & 64gb capacities are guidelines for what the OP want's, but they might settle for something else if a good idea is presented.

i find it hilarious that nobody understands my point....regardless, i admit to your guys suggestion; the 5th gen ipod (30-80 gb) with rockbox is awesome and is great for any budget.

I'm not sure about the terminology here... SSD as opposed to HDD? Do you consider SSD same as Flash?
I will only use the DAP for listening to music, so I am primarily looking for memory size and SQ.
A small form factor is nice and I am not a fan of flashy UI's and big screens because my DAP is mostly in my pocket, hidden away.
But if what I am looking for only comes in bigger physical sizes, then I guess I have to consider it.

You didn't get the point, as the capacities mentioned are iPod Touch based NAND FLASH, not just SSD. We understood better than you did, and were providing alternatives, as you might have been yourself.
