There were some pops in a 11 year old receiver so I figured storage and deal with it later. I pull it out to see if I can use the power amp and a universal bluray with outputs, thinking likely the pops are in the preamp stage. All channels. Occasional, just pop, no crackles.
Now though, the receiver works fine with far more difficult (still not horrible) 4 ohm 86 db spec two ways.
I even hooked up all 5.1 no objections.
Could I have simply had a short in the speaker wire? In more than one channel?
