I have tried 3 IEMs, one of them was Etymotic deep insertion
The other two Shure (and another popular brand) wouldn't stay in my ear for longer than a few seconds
I tried compressing tiny Comply tips (I bought a big selection) to fit in my tiny ear canals but no...
The Etymotic hurt as they went in - I had "a little" bass now but my light footsteps in cushioned slippers made loud thumping noises in my ears (occlusion)
Anoyingly my wired Bose QC20 noise cancelling ear buds make a nice seal with no pressure (with their outer ear cavity fitting "wings") and deliver a great level of bass.
I will give the Etymotic one more go with different tips....
But I fear due to my odd shaped ear canals - my in ear monitor adventures may be over.
I think I may have to wait for some AptX HD Bose neck band Bluetooth's to emerge.
Is there a IEM type (for my weird ear type) I should try before throwing in the towel?
.
Many thanks
