The non skid surface is definitely a great thing, better than many of those metallic toys out there! Does the silver one have a different kind of finish?

I assume it does since it doesn't look like rubber.

  I bit. Got my promo code and it worked fine online- not tax and free shipping.  Didn't really want yellow but you can't beat the price. Can't wait to compare it to my Fiio X1 and X3 second edition.  I just hope the Pono can handle 11,000 songs in it's database. 

well i got the code to work after switching to the standard server
then logging out and logging back in a little fiddly but it worked
to good a deal to pass up

I have the black version - I find the casing marks easily with finger prints and little smudges. Sometimes I wished for mellow yellow. Or, ultimately that rare clear edition I've seen around.

I was hoping for less than $300. If/when it ever gets down that low, I think I'll have trouble resisting trying one.
