I think he is puling our leg.......some kind of humor. Who's Greg Sage, is he real person?

Well, we might be pulling the same leg, don't know :)

Very real.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Sage

and Wipers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wipers

His basic approach was that music as an art should be a pure interaction between the artist and listener.. no commercial interest and Neil Young knows about that and Greg Sage.. although along the road he forgot..

Wow, I was lucky to pick up the first Greg Sage (Wipers) Pono edition. This unit is not going to be mass distributed/marketed since there's only one unit and it will strictly stay between me as a consumer and Greg Sage. This is a very special release will also not be a collector's item since I don't plan to sell it or even tell anyone that I have it..

Basically, I'm unique because I will have it and Neil Young doesn't even know.. Latest, I have heard is that he's sharing a joint, like business ..with someone..

LOL. Yes you are a special and unique snowflake indeed! And so far you're doing a great job at not telling anyone about it! :D
Now please cooperate as we gently escort you to the white van.

There was no point in saying "first person" if you're going to be the only person. XD
That's like saying I'm first in line, and there's only one person. You're not really the first because first implies there's multiple; you're the only person.

If you're not planning to tell anyone that you're the only person with this unit, why did you bother posting it in a public forum that can be Googled and is the first result?

Of course he's pulling our leg.

But kudos for knowing who Greg Sage is although it took Kurt Cobain to put him on the map for most.

Is this thE Greg Sage? Cause of it is not something to brag about........

Gregory D. Sage, 26, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Scott O. Wright this morning to the charge contained in a Jan. 4, 2007, federal indictment. Sage, formerly an on-air personality for Mix 93.3 FM radio station, also operated a business that sold photos of high school athletes from a Web site.

Sage admitted that he received a video of child pornography over the Internet on Aug. 25, 2006. Under the terms of today’s plea agreement, Sage will be sentenced to 15 years in federal prison without parole. A formal sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.

Seriously what's the deal about Greg Sage?

I don't think the Greg Sage was 26 years of age in 2007 (officially born in 1952), unless he was kind of immortal.. well, in a way he is.. Anyhow, just take a shot at listening to his music.. The Wipers/Greg Sage.. Most likely you won't like it or I could be very much wrong :)

Neil Young and Kurt Cobain both had deep respect for his music and efforts and I'm so very proud to be the first and only "Greg Sage" Pono owner, well later on..

I think the main thing that keeps me from biting is the delivery time. 9 months is a lot of time to have other devices appear and to maybe regret buying it before you even have it. But I'll definitely keep an eye on it and perhaps buy it later, if it turns out to really be a great device. Even though it will cost 100usd more that way.

I'm gonna wait till they have a huge surplus of players and I can pick one up for $59.95 at Ross.

Great now we have stupid news videos like this promoting Pono: http://msnvideo.msn.com/?channelindex=8&from=en-us_msnhpvidmod#/video/71905f5e-31b4-4cf9-a595-f869f50bcdf6

The guy is essentially making it sound like Pono is the only player and "format" in existence that plays high resolution music.

Yeah, I'm kind of flabbergasted that so many Media sources are reporting the Pono as revolutionary in the industry.  Do we Head-Fier's really enjoy this hobby in that small a bubble?  Anyway, no knocks on the Pono from me, unless it offers nothing particularly new and becomes a marketing sensation as we've seen Beats become.

Revolutionary? All apple and amazon have to do is start selling matching bit rates and they're gonna steal the thunder among normal consumers. But, if Pono hype will encourage this, and lead other manufacturers to bump up their quality, gimme a t-shirt!
