yeah, that's the one, man. funny though--mine comes with 2 standard AA's. battery life is about 3-4 hours. the display is only backlit with an ac adapter. with batteries the display is dark.

the top is metal and the body seems like plastic. but the unit is very solid indeed.

Where do the AA batteries go, is there a different compartment for them on the bottom or some kind of adapter? Interesting, I may have to look into that.

it's kinda hard to explain. the AA's go in the same compartment as your battery pack. there's this plastic 'frame' which holds the AA's and pops out of the battery compartment. you put the batteries into this 'frame' and pop the whole thing back in.

That's what I thought, I seem to remember seeing something like that long ago, now I need to go back to my parents house and look for it. I think the player came with both, but the rechargeables have probably died on most if not all of them by now.
