I decided to finally go with these because the DT770s were a worthy upgrade of the XB500s but the 990s were even a much bigger upgrade from the dt770s AND while they have and i quote from Mad lust envy, SLIGHTLY less sub bass, and even more mid bass/punch/impact liek a closed phone, compared to the dt700s, they seem to be the best of all the worlds they even beat the d2000 my friend said, in quality and soundstage.
