Does there exist any issues in utilizing 0.1uF polar tantalum caps for the opamp filter caps? I would suspect the positive leads would face eachother. Would this be correct?

I prefer to use a good quality film type capacitor, or a monolithic ceramic (e.g., NP0 type, not ceramic disc) capacitor for the 0.1uF bypass cap. These have better high frequency characteristics than tantalums.

Or better yet...use both.

Al electrolytic caps have improved their high frequency performance to the point that there is little reason to use tantalum any more

tantalum caps have always been problematic for low distortion audio as they have a very nonlinear dielectric, Al has always been better in this regard

in power supply bypass low K ceramics in smt packages can't be beat, also any plastic film is superior to electros, look for stacked metallized film even in mylar

tantalum mining is a humanitarian and ecological disaster
