Anyone else out there participating in a Polar Plunge challenge this year?  It is a fund raising event to raise money for the Special Olympics (least in Oregon that's what it is).  More or less we raise money for the special olympics then we jump in cold water!  
 
Anyone else doing this in their town? Has anyone done it before?

I did a Polar Plunge (for no reason in particular other than we had the chance to do it), back in '04 or '05 when we were checking out some radio sensor stations we kept on the North Slope. We ended up outside of Endicott, right near the shore and figured 'Why Not?'
 
I don't think they actually let anyone do it out of there anymore since then....
