Hello

I really do need some advise on choosing a DAC
I just sold my little dot amp and ordered a ROC sa version from audio -gd

and i wonder what kind of dac should i use with it.
before getting a new dac , i will be with the little dot dac1

I need something that is better then little dot dac1 which use WM8740 dac chip

and price around 700-800

can someone recommand me a dac that fit this bill?

Thanks..
Will be using this setup for

T1,HE-6, LCD-2

The wm8741 is a better chip than wm8740.
Pacific valve still has Dac 19DSP and NFB-1 with ES9018 chip. If you are looking for NFB-1 with ES9018 chip it will cross your budget of around $800.

i think i can go abit more.
but what you think.. between 1704uk es9018 and wm8741

which one is better to match with ROC?
i think the ROC sa is abit warm and musical right?
and i really want something that neutral and detail

after i sold my little dot dac1 i will have enough money to go up to like 900-950 dollars.

Both ES9018 and PCM1704 dacs are very neutral, either ways it will not make much of a difference. Even Kingwa has mentioned the only difference he finds between both the chips is the slight difference in presentation of vocals. With the PCM1704 chips you have two options of Dac-19 and Ref 5 but the Ref 5 will definately cross the 1k range.

Is it easy just get a pre owned one ehhe

So if I cn get both es9018 and 1704uk are good for pairing with roc sa ?

If you are going for both, you might just want to save up first and go high up in AGD DAC chain.
Which chip to go for will be up to your gears and ears how you want it to sound like.

What will you use as source? The jitter resistence of the ES9018 is best in the industry. I'd say to get the last NFB-1 when you still can.
