. It good or bad?

And on mouser be present two versions this multimeters:

Ntrl -

As best I can, these are the opinions on meters I've learned:

Extech is Chinese throw-away. If you accept that, then they can be useful under certain circumstances. However, I would be suspicious of prices. Mouser will not be able to give the kind of volume discounts on Chinese imports that other places can. So, the Extech is cheap meter at expensive price from Mouser.

B&K, Meterman, and Protek are excellent quality meters. The Meterman is duplicate to Wavetek, which has a cult following among some DIY people. Wavetek/Meterman is sort of Fluke quality at cheaper prices. The one you are looking at is a good meter, although I am not an expert on specific Models.

Fluke is absolute best, but also very expensive. You still have to be careful, though - their cheaper stuff does NOT have Lifetime Guarantee, and is no better than the meters above - Models 110, 111, and 112 are in this category: Chinese-made and not "Fluke quality", per se. Models 73, 77, 175, 177, 179, 83, 87, 187, and 189 are best.

hope that helps ...

I have a Fluke 8062A, inherited from my dad when he left for China, and just now found out how much it's worth new...

It's a great meter, served me well for the past few years and a lot more years for my dad. I'd definitely recommend checking out some of Fluke's discontinued 80xx series, solid products that only lack a few features from the new 18x line.

Is there a decent quality DMM @ Mouser that they will ship to Russia?
Every one of the better meters they have has this little note attached to it:

This product unavailable for shipment to the European Union.

Or does that not apply?

Hmmm...can't say I agree with that.

I've never used a B+K meter, but I've used a lot of their other stuff. Be careful: some B+K stuff is indeed excellent, other stuff...not so much.

Meterman and Wavetek: I wouldn't say "excellent", but certainly not junk, either. Probably not the best if high accuracy or outstanding durability are a concern, but if you want a solid meter that can be calibrated, they're a reasonable choice, IMHO.

Protek: Having used one piece of Protek equipment, I'm fairly confident ranking it below B+K. I'd guess that it's on par with Extech. Not horrible, but probably near the bottom of the barrel for branded instrumentation. (That is, if you don't count house brands, like Circuit Specialists, Craftsman, Radio Shack, Velleman...it's all rebranded, and I specifically exclude it from comparison here. I'm talking about brands with their own identity.)

And for good reason. They have the best warranty, the best line of accessories, the best record for durability and accuracy....they are simply the best, for handhelds.

Russia is not part of the EU. That note may be a price control/distribution exclusivity issue with the EU.

There are other reasons for Fluke being expensive. Notably, the 73-III is made in China ... it is apparently no less expensive than it ever was. Also, they've chosen a predatory/acquisition strategy over their former competitors rather than concentrating exclusively on product improvement. There is very little left that is not owned by them - except for the Chinese alternatives such as Extech/Centech/etc. and other house brands. That is not good for the DMM consumer.

MAGLITE is a brand of flashlight made in the US (I believe it's still in the US at least).

Very very durable flashlights, but fairly basic tech. Infamous for having the dead spot in the thrown light since it's a smooth mirror and clear lens (If you focus it just right you'll see that the dead spot is the image of the light buld). Basic physics issue that they never desired to fix.

Good solid general use flashlights, but there are solutions elsewhere that are more appropriate if you have specific tasks in mind (LED flashlights for up close stuff, Xenon lights for distance stuff. Both in smaller packages)

Big thanx for a advices

I.e. for my hobby (DIY PPA, M3, AlienDAC etc) Meterman 34XR is good choice.
But in instruction on this multimeter don't exist feature - calibration aka adjustment. Wrote: if battery level low then faster replace it.

Yet question about maglite (this word absent in my eng-rus dict) aka flashlight. It built in inside multimeter or it kit (multimeter + flashlight) ?

No, it's not built in. They are merely giving you a flash light free when you buy that meter. They include it in the same box but it most likely has nothing to do with the Meterman.

hope this helps.

Ntrl,

The MAGlite is a high-value flashlight. It has no connection to the Meterman. It's an American sales gimmick - "Please buy this and we'll give you this fine flashlight as a prize."

Hmm, "gimmick" implies dishonesty. It's more of a sales tactic I think. I've seen the Meterman 38XR sold with an included voltage detector, which I thought was rather nifty. It got my interest, I don't know what's wrong with that...
