I would like to ask Your opinion and impression With double amping With Your portable rigs

Note :
In The Theory double amping are not so Good , can reduce the SQ abd got some distorsion
Not all Amps are very Good For double amping

Have you tried double amping ?

I have tried Two set Up double amping as below :

set Up A :
Source : AK 120 Titan mod as DAP
As pre amp : Ko Jo KM01 Tsugaru
As amp : Mass Ko Bo 395
Iem : Earsonic SM 64 v2

Set Up B :
Source : AK 240 as transport
As pre amp / dac : ibasso D 12 Hi Fligt mod
As Amp : MH Audio MH 11
Iem : Earsonic SM 64 v2

Cable : mini to mini Crystal Cable Dream line series diy
Sys Concept Canada 2,2 mm 1300 strands

Overall SQ :
Set Up A and set Up B : more extended High , better pronounce In mid ,better bass body and impact , sound are Fuller compare to One amp

Hi, when you double amp, the noise gets amplified.  As you keep adding amps to the chain since noise gets amplified, you start losing SNR.  Also, don't turn the volume up all the way on the preamp.  Amps usually has a non-linear section where it will intruduce distortion if you amplify it as high levels.

As pre amp we use Ko Jo
the volume from pre amp and amp must try to turn the volume for best sounding SQ

Not all amps are very good for double amping , until now Ko Jo is the best as pre amp
Some has very bad sounding with bi amping

You use line-out on source? What if connect source via headphone out? It will be triple-amping in fact. How change SQ in that way? AK100 i think have not bad amplifier inside.

You are right if I account AK 100 amp , the result are 3 amping

I use already AK 100 HP Out , AK 100 don't have Line Out

AK 100 use HP Out > line in Ko Jo > Ko Jo Hp Out > MH 11 line in >> LCD X use Hp Out

Note : for maintain best SQ in the set up , you should use very good mini to mini , if not you lost the SQ

Mid : very sweet and thick natural sounding mid and very Good pronounce
Bass : has better body , Fuller bass , better bass impact , very Deep and Low
Bass and very detail and clean bass
Separation : excellent separation
Soundstage : Become 3 D wider ,tall er and deeper

Overall: everything are better than use Onky One Duet and very important No distorsion at all , sound Become very rich and Fuller sound

Hi Rudi,

Oh my gosh, now I'm tempted to get two Wagnus preamp Valvola instead of one.

What if we add PAD-SO EVOLUZIONE between the Duet Silver and Duet Copper - does it help the noise floor or something else?

Maybe trying both combo KM01-TSUGARU + KM01-BRASS and KM01-BRASS + KM01-TSUGARU as well.

What For you need Two Valvola Tube pre amp , i Think One is enough

AK 100 > duet Copper as pre amp > duet silver as amp > Pad Evoluzione is Attenautor > Shure SE 846 = Floor noise Become No noise

Double Duets are not so big noise , it is less than Theorem or Alo Rx 3 B


I have sold My Ko Jo Tsugaru
Now i have 2 Ko Jo km 01 Brass Edition
I have already tested Two Ko Jos SQ is excellent too and No,distorsion
The important Think from double amp is No distorsion and The house sound character remain , Become better pronounce In all frequencies , than The double amping is perfect

My ultimate portable set up:
 
AK120ii > MK3 B> Intruder > HD650/LCD XC on silver litz cable.
ALO MK3 B gives richer and fuller sound with very good bass and Intruder balance out is very spacious, airy and very clean.
The result is incredibly wider and taller sound stage with excellent separation and depth. No noise or distortion.
