Hello, I'm looking to expand my CD collection. I listen to a lot of different genres but have a fondness for acoustic guitars and female singers. I particularly like the "Punk Goes Acoustic" CD.

I'm currently listening to Tracy Chapman on my Grado's

Can someone recommend similar? (I've already trawled through previous posts and found the recomendations were pretty much hit-and-miss for me)

thx.

The female voice (a really nice airy alto) of Valeria Jokisch, accompanied by acoustic guitar(s) and violin/mandolin can be found in the work of ellipsis:

They provide free streaming of the songs from their new CD at:
http://www.omissionmusic.com/media.asp

And, their CD is also available for purchase on the same website, if you like what you hear sufficiently.

I own their latest CD and attended one of their live performances recently. They will be high up on my regular play rotation for some time.

I was absolutely blown away with Eleni Mandell.

her voice is amazing, and she plays a 50'sish Martin parlor guitar.

She tours a lot too.
