My son is a lead singer in a Rock/pop band. A few years ago he bought a Shure PSM400 In-Ear Monitor System. It came with a Shure E1 earphone set that was made for Shure by Westone (Westone UM1)

They only lasted around a year and a half before they developed an open circuit within the earphone. They were also designed not to be disassembled for repairs. Real trash.
He replaced them with an Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 3 earphone after Guitar Center told him that they were really good and he should have a custom earmold made for them after he has more money.

He doesn't like them very much. Isolation is poor and they don't fit right. Now he thinks he needs to get the earmold made. I told him to wait. So I am posting here for any recommendations you might have. The requirements here are different than the normal headphone/earphone music listening requirements, but I thought maybe someone would have a suggestion.

Thanks,
John

Hi there,

A pair of custom molded IEMs will do him better, if he's got a problem with isolation.
You just have to find a good audiologist to make the mold.

I play the drums and I use UE4.
In my opinion the bass isn't strong enough, but the other instruments come out crystal clear. I love 'em.

There are other UE models which the company claims to have a better bass response but they're more expensive. At least to my budget :)

Here's their range:
