I recently returned the Sound Blaster Omni USB sound card, because its sound quality was worse than my MacBook Pro's DAC. I have the Logitech Z623 speaker system and the Sennheiser HD 558 headphones. Please recommend me a USB DAC for under $200?

I can recommend you one for under $300. Audio-GD NFB-15. It has enough power to drive almost any headphone, multiple digital inputs, and a pre-amp so you can hook up your speakers and use the same volume control.

I'm not sure if my speakers would benefit with an USB DAC.

Take a look at the Schiit Modi and Magni combo ($200 total) - great sound, good price, USA made.
