hi guys I'm new here and need ur guidance with new pair of buds to use on my commute to work(by bike),sports(biking,snowbaording,..)and other travels. my budget is max 150 $ ,as the source i would be using primarily iPhone 4 and iPod so music controls would be nice option.i listen mostly metal, hard rock/rock,and classical, ambient music.
so far i have been reading reviews all around the net and got cpl of things that r in budget
shure se 215 (with addition of a cable for controls)
jvc ha-fxt90
klipsch reference s4i
i have been using lower end buds for long time and i been eating them almost monthly (cpl of apples, sony's lower end buds, jvc, skull and recently siege audio stealth which lasted longest(8months) but my mic and function button died )so i think its time to spend little bit more and help my ears and at the same time slowly walk in the audiophile world in this department as i am in house audio system .
any pointers suggestion are more then welcome
thks Bo

Look at either the Yamaha EPH-100, GR07 and Rockit Sounds R-50 (a cheaper version of the Vsonic GR01), they would all work well with the music you described.  The EPH-100 and R-50 are both around $120 but the GR07 is around $175 so a little out of the price range you set.

The EPH costs $150. The GR07 can be had on the forums for less than $135

I will rcommend the GR07, UETF10Pro, Etymotic HF5, Klipsch Image X5 for these genres music and they all are very detailed and offers good bass response with above average isolation.
