This could be the oddest post I have ever seen-but I respect your opinions/taste nonetheless.
You have Big Hair/Arena Rock and German Industrial/Aggro metal on the same list! Interesting...
As for your Pink Floyd statement, first-HATE is a strong word and second-you will eat those words one day. Give them another try.
As for recommendations, I have many for you. However, it would be easier if you could describe some musical elements that constitute the rock you enjoy thus far.
For example: Scorpions have some great, sweeping, melodious songs while Rammstein is angst ridden, minimal industrial with driving guitars.
I want to offer up some psychadelic/artsy/prog rock but ur PF comment is throwing me for a loop.
Start with some of the accessible recent classics, and then maybe move backward in time from there:

Grunge/Straight Rock:
Alice in Chains-Dirt
Pearl Jam-Ten
The Smashing Pumpkins-Siamese Dream

Pop/Artsy Rock:
U2-Joshua Tree
Coldplay-A Rush of Blood to the Head
Radiohead-OK Computer
Porcupine Tree-Deadwing

Hardcore:
Pantera-Vulgar Display of Power
Deftones-Adrenaline
Helmet-Betty

(GOOD)Nu-Metal:
Rage Against the Machine-Self Titled
Korn-Issues
Linkin Park-Hybrid Theory

Industrial:
Nine Inch Nails-The Downward Spiral
Ministry-Psalm 69
KMFDM-Nihil

Some must Have Classic Rock Albums:
King Crimson-In the Court of the Crimson King
Pink Floyd-Dark SIde of the Moon
The Doors-The Best of
Jimi Hendrix-Are You Experienced?
The Beatles-The White Album
Led Zeppelin-start with "IV"
and of course...Guns 'N Roses-Appetite for Destruction

That should do for now...

LOL - when I first read that post title, I thought "that's like saying, Introduce me to Food".

I'm a big prog fan, but based on your heavy metal leanings of the albums you mentioned, I'd suggest trying Dream Theater, especially their "Scenes From a Memory", or "Images and Words" CDs.

Also try Rush's "Moving Pictures" or Queensryche's "Operation: Mindcrime" or "Empire".

So you like rock with good melodies. Me too!

In this case I'd pick up the best albums from Porcupine Tree. Try In Absentia, Stupid Dream or Lightbulb Sun. You'll love all of them.

Another great rock band with even greater melodies is Marillion. Try Misplaced Childhood and Bridge from them.

Some harder rock/metal with good melodies... go for Tool. I heard time for first time just a while ago and now I'm hooked. Try any of their three albums listed in Allmusic.

If metal is ok for you then Nightwish has some great melodies also. And Iron maiden is great also.

Well there's just a few of them. I tried to pick up the bands with music which will play in your head after you hear it. That means that it had good melodies.

Hope you'll enjoy these.

Here's my list of what you should look into, easily sorted for your convinence. I'd recommend starting with the older "classic" bands, but there's plenty of newer bands that you might like just as much (or more).

There are a lot of different types of Rock music.
If I had to sum it up and pick one shining example of a rock band and rock music , I would say The Who and the album "Who's Next".
If you like Van Halen then you might like Led ZeppelinII
My introduction to Rock was The James Gang - "Rides Again" Thats from the 70s .
You like jazz and now rock , try Zappa "Overnight Sensation" ..but hes not for everyone.

how is that even possible..? Pink Floyd is the single greatest band of all time to grace musical history.

but yah, i won't give any more recomendations as others have given you plenty. it really depends on whether you like the newer prog stuff or the older more classical stuff.

Such a "fact" is second only to the fact that musical value is, in fact, subjective.

Do you have FM rock stations? Probably not, but had to ask. How about Internet radio? If I were in your shoes, I'd want to sample some stuff before buying CD's.

I'm completely unfamiliar with United Arab Emirates. Is there an expat area with bars or night clubs and live bands? That could be a good education for pop and classic rock music.
