Not sure if I post in the right section. But here goes.

So I just my Hybrid Minimax Amp, previously I have been using my AV Receiver since I use it for my speakers.

Is there a way to connect the Minimax through PC to Receiver then to the Amp?

This is a picture of the back of the amp.

I tried using this setup:
Creative x-fi extreme audio -> AV Receiver (using 3.5mm to RCA cable to TAPE Input) -> Amp ( RCA cable to Tape Output)

Still the sound comes from the speakers, nothing from the Minimax.

So my question is what am I doing wrong? Or is using the AV Receiver with the AMP not possible?

I would still like to use the receiver as most of the time I use my speakers. But if I want to use my headphone, I would like to use the Minimax. I do not want to crawl under the table just to switch the cables.

Pardon me for my English

You should get sound by plugging your headphone amp into the pre-out (FL, FR). I'm not sure if you can mute the speakers though.

Mm, I'm guessing people are still reeling from how many ins and outs you got there

Indeed you will want to use the FL and FR pre-outs. Your receiver ought to have a speaker selection dial or something; even my rather simple (in comparison) integrated stereo amp has a dial that switches from speaker A, B, A+B, and to OFF.

If I'm not mistaken, you'd have to throw the "Tape Monitor" switch to hear anything from the MiniMAX with the connection string you typed.

Personally, I wouldn't fool with the pre-out connectors. They appear to be setup for Dolby Surround/5.1 and you can't guarantee that the signal hasn't been pre-processed because of that.

I'd just select a pair of unused Video-L/R Out jacks and use those to connect to the MiniMAX. You'll have to turn your speaker switch off, but you should be able to hear any source from the receiver through your MiniMAX.
