Ever since I got my 5.1 setup to work on my x-fi for games, kernel streaming won't run to my headphone setup. it gives me that 'unrecoverable error opening device or something. i also tried ASIO4all for the first time and it gives me that 'beyond logic' symbol for my sound card (av-710...see sig). Where do I even begin to start with this mess of a problem? Thanks for your input

Sounds like corruption to me. I would say wipeout those applications and reload from scratch. Make sure to test things at intervals between reloading. That will help you isolate if something is stepping on something else.

Did you follow my explanation thread? Since for as far as I can see you have got a latency which is set too low. It could be something else as well.

And devices are supposed to say "beyond logic" when playing music through it.
