I have a Pioneer Spec-1 preamplifier, and a pair of Adcom GFA-565 mono power amplifiers.

The reason why I bought the pair of power amps was to drive headphones through SPEC-1.

As you guys know, the Spec-1 doesn't have its headphone amplifier.  A power amplifier should back up the Spec-1 to drive headphones.

My rig goes:
My laptop -> dac -> preamp -> poweramp

I use output of Spec-1 to connect to power amp.  I plugged the rca cables from the spec-1 output to the input of GFA-565 power amp. Is it correct?

I got no sounds coming from the headphone jack of Spec-1......

I don't know what is wrong.....

I couldn't get the answer for this problem from AudiogoN and Audiokarma...

Please somebody helps me out.

I connect from the output of DAC to the input (Aux1) of Spec-1 preamp.

The output of my dac I use is balanced.  Should I use unbalanced outputs to connect with my preamp??

Do you have the tape monitor switch engaged? If I had a dollar for every time I blew my ears out because the tape monitor was engaged and the volume was cranked, and i was fiddling trying to figure out why it wasnt working, I'd have a vintage stereo as nice as yours...nearly
