Alright... what I ultimately want is (not necessarily all at once)

*IEMs with deep-insertion tips ( I can buy tips besides what it comes with, right?)
*Portable, (folding?) headset that can be worn around the neck comfortably
*Something with Active noise cancelling, I love being able to turn it on and drown out the world that much more effectively.

With that, (Although I am still extremely curious about everything I've linked, expecially those <$10 that claim better response frequencies than I've seen on most headsets) I'll limit it down to three products I really want to know about (and two more general questions);

Is Ebay's $23 Altec Lansing UHP306 good for what I'm wanting/what I'd be using it for?
Does the Audio-Technica ATH ANC23 Quietpoint compare well? Is it worth the $20 more than above, even without the noise-cancelling?
Would I be terribly dissappointed by this NC Monoprice headset? Compared to the Sony one I used to have?
What's available for headsets that wrap around the back of the head instead of going over the head? With/without Active NC? I tried one once, fit nice.
Should I just grab one of the well-priced things in the Deal Alerts Thread and give up trying to get a response?

First off, I'm sincerely sorry if I'm doing something wrong by posting like this.

***You don't really have to read this bit if you want***
Anyway... the extent of my audio experience ( besides no-brand computer speakers&school headsets that rips your hear out when you take them off)  are such;
Well-loved X-mini MAXs ( I know, not headphones... )
Plantronics Gamecom 367 ( Which I am happy with for a headset that dosen't move around, even though it's been getting creaky)
Some sony noise-cancelling dealies I got from Aldis for cheap
No-name completely ear-covering headset with an awesome at least 3 meter cord, haven't measured
Koss  Pathfinder
Marshmellows
and some Outis I nabbed from Big Lots for $15.

They were all quite nice as far as I can tell, but they're dying on me. I think it's wire damage, can't be sure... Pathfinder buds will randomly go deaf or quiet ( Yeah yeah, lifetime warantee. Thought that meant I wouldn't end up needing it, threw the packaging & recipt away @.@) and the marshmellow's earbuds dim out, right more than the left, with some obvious wire damage in the middle of it. x.x

Worst of all for me was the Outis- I absolutely loved them, I was pretty sad when I found them after them disappearing for a while, with no amount of wire-jiggling changing anything about the left but being suddenly dead. The second whammy was finding that they were >$100 buds normally, not $15... and then, finally, that they weren't even sold anymore. Sad days.

The sonys were nice too, liked the noise-cancelling... but the headpiece broke, and my dad took a hammer to it after superglue failed to fix things :<   ("When you can't fix something, break it some **** more and replace the *******")
***/whiney reminiscing***

So I need some new portable listening devices- In-ear is nice, but I am perfectly fine with relatively unobtrusive over-the-head or behind-the-neck earpieces I'd end up wearing around my neck when not listening, or clip-ons. For some slight refrence, the sony noise cancelling deals were slightly big for being a geeky necklace, but acceptable.

And there are some sales that I've found!
So...

Noise-cancelling is good, imo. :> How do they sound when it's off and or batteryless though? I've found them for $43.

How are these for $89? Is it worth pretty much emptying my bankroll?

Altec Lansing UHP306

How about Ebay's current Daily Deal, pasted above (weird pasting o.o;:wink: which is currently about $23? I'd like a response on that before the price changes back...

And waterproof earbuds? Are they seriously waterproof? Can I listen in the shower? o.o

Of course, these aren't the only choices. I'd like not to pay more than ~$50 though...  And they don't necessarially have to be earbuds! Not-ginormus headsets are fine too, like I said. Maybe one of each. That's a bit of a stretch though.

And finally... Is there any way to fix or replace my Outi? Any way at all? Pretty pretty please rainbow sherbet with cherries and unicorns on top? This is separate from the rest- If it's possible, I'd like it eventually- not as important as just having something nice to use around that dosen't wig out every time the wire moves- in addition to said somethings, in fact.

Oh, and I guess I need a case, if what I get dosen't come with something pocketable. Apparently it's necessarry... *gestures up at all the "wear and tear" damage history, rather than earbuds dying from overuse*

I don't really remember what it was from, which is sad... but I remember when I was younger, getting to listen to some higher-quality equipment and hearing whole new melodies in my favorite songs that I completely missed before. I'd love to have that again.

Noise cancelling o3o

Like the look of the "DJ headset", with the detachable cable, too. Out of stock though.

I really, really need to stop browsing and just wait for a response. @.@
I ended up looking around because of the two "cheap gems" threads I found, about the Focalprice thing http://www.head-fi.org/t/579727/mysterious-focalprice-iems-amazing-impressions-and-comparisons-inside and the Monoprice 14.2 mm driver buds http://www.head-fi.org/t/580769/the-monoprice-8320-how-can-these-only-cost-7-11
