Hi guys. I'm new here.. head-fi seems like a really organised and informative forum for newbies like me who wants to get into the community. :)

First and foremost, sorry for another recommendation thread. But, i have always been wanting to get a decent earphone.
I mainly listen to black music (hip hop and rnb) and electronic dance music (mostly trance, DnB and electro house).
I've been surfing around the net and all the recommendation i received was UE triple fi 10.
Honestly, it is too pricy for me as i am still a uni student in Australia. I'd like to have a decent one under $200. I have a decent headphone ATH PRO700 MK2. But, I want some good earphones as well :).

I don't know where to get earphones online in Aus.. probably gonna use ebay. If anyone know any good online or offline stores around Sydney, please advise me on that :)

Anyways, thanks for reading.. any comments will be helpful :p

The Shure SE215 are something you might want to look into.

You live in Australia? This is an Australian store that delivers to anywhere in Australia (and New Zealand I believe) for free. They have a wide variety of headphones, head amps, DACS, sources etc..

You could also look into the Sennheiser CX300-v2 .... They have great bass and my dad who loves dubstep and a lot of other genres loves them.. The chord is a bit short and feels cheap but it doesn't get a feedback/wire thump...

Well the Ultrasone HFI series are known to be especially good for trance/dance music.

You can get a pretty good deal on the HFI-580 for about 154$, If you're feeling ambitious however, you could get the HFI-780's for $186 discounted from their original 279$ price.

Also since both of these headphones are low impedance, you don't need an amp to drive them.

The store is in Melbourne and they offer free express shipping to anywhere in Australia.

My bad, I misread your post, I thought you meant headphones.

In terms of earphones or IEM's, I would recommend the Yamaha EPH-100 (Retail: 150$) for a balanced sound reproduction.

They are available here for about 99$: http://www.exeltek.com.au/yamaha-eph-100-in-ear-headphones-earphones

Exeltek doesn't offer free shipping unfortunately but startrack express is around 12-20$.

I also would like to recommend http://www.addictedtoaudio.com.au/. I recently purchased my Shure SE215 LTD from there. They were only $119.00 delivered (free) and they arrived in Perth in two days. I am using them exclusively for trance/electronic music at night. I can't stand my partners snoring and these are the best ones I have found for completely blocking this out as well as allowing me to lay on my side with the IEM in (BTW: you can actually sleep in these).

I also own the Yamaha EPH-100. They are beautifully designed, comfortable, and awesome for electronic music, but I cannot stand the microphonics (I find I am extremely sensitive to this), so 'gifted' them to my partner as he doesn't care what he puts in his ears as long as he can watch his YouTube videos (he has a drawer full of my 'gifts' lol). I find that the Shure SE215 LTD (not standard) has more bass than the Yamaha EPH-100.

I just sold my brand new TF10's. Never used them (only sold for $100 as well). Opened them up and saw the size and knew they weren't for me. Apparently they are excellent for electronic music. My partner bought me the UE900's on the weekend, but I have just returned them (un-opened) as I am really wanting to get a pair of either the WestOne 4R's or the Shure SE535 LTD's.

Thanks all for the comments. I ended up buying EHP-100. I was hesitating between GR07 and EHP-100. But Exeltek.com really sells EHP-100 much cheaper so i bought that one :) thanks all, especially Spastic!

 I agree with this.

I listen to hip hop and R&B mostly and the SE215's suit it very well. Its well within your price budget too.

Perhaps the prices on Audiofly earphones might not be so expensive in Australia, as Audiofly is an Australian company.
