I just discovered this player (which was mentioned in the Passion For Sound channel [by Lachlan Fennen] on youtube for its sound quality) and I tried it and liked it for its transparency and help with digital glare problems.
It has some nice DSP options (such as de-emphasis and "ZOH NOSDAC high frequency roll off compensation" which I find useful).
Using with a Windows PC into this gear: DAVE/Mscaler/Phonitor-XE amp/ZMF Caldera Closed.

I normally use Jriver with some eq to drop a few dbs in the upper mid-range to reduce glare, especially on vocals (3 to 7 khz). I have a few stored curves for this.

Anyway, If anyone wants to try it (it's freeware), it's here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/playpcmwin/

This is the Passion for Sound youtube video about this.
