Hi I'd appreciate your thoughts on moving away from using a computer as the music server (currently using Win PC - foobar - ifi idsd Micro - headphones). The idsd micro offers great flexibility as regards file type & sample rate.and excellent SQ for its price.
My requirements for a device (either a dedicated music server or a device which incorporates this function::
usb input for hdd or usb drive
Output via usb for bit perfect playback
Can process PCM to 96/192 DSD to 256
Remote to control menu
Displays track info
Android app friendly Cost up to £1200
The best current solution that I have come across is the Auralic Aries G1 but Auralic only use an ios app for their remote which means getting an Apple device on top of an expensive server/streamer. I just checked the Idsd pro which ifi have added a usb input for hdd/usb playback - perfect except for the cost
Any suggestions very welcome.
