Just got new Audeze LCD-3 and Moon Audio Silver Dragon V3 cable.
 
Also, am upgrading my Pacette passive preamp with Placettes new dual mono active line stage drivers. Guy at Placette has informed me I can use the active line stages to drive the Audeze?
 
My question is: does anyone have any experience driving headphone with a Placette active?
 
My current headphone amp is a "Headroom max" with the pot bypassed and using the Placette for volume control.

I have a Placette Active. It's an exceptional piece of gear paired with my First Watt J2.
 
The LCD3 out if the Placette Active headphone jack is good, not great, not bad. My guess is that you'll probably have better results keeping the Headroom Max as your amp.
 
You should definitely get the Placette Active as it's a phenomenal piece of gear, but its strength isn't as a headphone amp.
