This may come across as a little dumb, but what places can I go to in order to cash a money order? I assume the bank is one, but any others? Post office perhaps?

If it's a postal money order you can take it to the post office, bank is the best place for the others.

Ah I thought so. I'm planning on paying this seller on ebay through money order, but he's not sure how to cash it so he asked me to explain it to him. I just buy them, so I have no experience in cashing them, strangely googling for it did very little!

I was researching this very thing today, I sold something and the buyer paid with money order. USPS will cash usps money orders no other ones, there are check cashing places that will cash mainstream ones like western union, grocery stores will only cash ones bought from the same store atleast for Ralphs, bank takes any I think. Western union only cashes their own too. I think USPS is considered the safest one since its basically backed by the government.
