Is there a place where I go and try on some of the headphone models I'm interested in? Or at least where I can buy them and easily return them if I don't like them? Comfort is a really big issue for me; I have a small head and small ears. In particular, I am interested in the Senn. HD-25-1, HD555 Beyer. DT-250-80, Sony V6, and Senn. HD280 Pro. There are several Guitar Centers near me, do they stock the headphones I'm looking for in store?

if they dont, they'll special order for you, i'm sure...they've special ordered so much **** for my guitar there. (maybe that's because i've bought all my guitar **** from there for over 6 years)

The only headphone that interested that me, that I could find on their web site was the Senn. HD 212 Pro. Do they carry other models as well?

Guitar Center definitely carries the 280s (and several people on these forums have talked them down pricewise). IIRC, they also carry the V6s. Not sure about the others though.
