I own some Sonys that are getting a bit better with what I call "natural" burn-in, i.e. just listening to them for some hours. I'd like to try some pink noise for burning them in, but I can't find anything. They only sell white noise CDs for relaxation (!).

Is there a place you know where you can download one hour or so of pink noise, mp3 or otherwise? A program that will *readily* compile under Linux (alas, I'm no programmer) will be fine too, as long as it will let me make an actual file that can be burned into a CD for later use.

HERE - HERE - HERE - etc....

I found these in 5 seconds on a Google search.

If you need longer, just copy and edit together on a free audio editing program like Audacity and then burn to a CD and play on repeat.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the links. I knew about the first and the third, but for some reason I had missed the second. Stitching small files with Audacity to make big ones is also an obvious thing to do: I wonder why I didn't think about that myself.

I think I'll try this on my new HD438's. It couldn't hurt!
