Thought this was interesting: Pimp your sound card

so he's adding capcitance to help clean up LF response on a relatively inexpensive soundcard (i'm not bashing the AV-710, hear me out), very interesting to see the results, but I'm wondering, how would this compare to something much more elegant in design, such as the X-Meridian, X-Fi Prelude (with or without opamp upgrades), or any number of more expensive cards? (i'm wondering do they suffer from the same issues, or similar issues, and would they benefit, or is this unique to the AV-710's design, or the Envy24's basic design, etc)
