I've been getting the resistors into my Pimeta today, and am scartching my head over R1G. There is little mention of it on Tangent's Parts Selection Guide, yet I do see it installed in the photos of his assembly guide. I know it has been mentioned in various threads as needing to be the same as R4G, and therefore the same as R1.

So...is it necessary or ???

Thanks.

You thinking about R3G?

You don't need it with a Jfet op-amp.

Actually you don't need it with with a bipolar op-amp either so....

Edit: the first sentence in Tangents R1 explanation is valid for all of the R1's.

Quote:

The main purpose of R1 is to help balance the op-amp's input impedances.

The second sentence explains the rest:

Quote:

Use the value on the schematic unless you have a good reason not to. If you do change it, it needs to be the same in all three channels.

No, sir. I cannot say that I am. R1G is to the left of R3G in this photo (linked to Tangent...).

See that little bugger? (well, okay, it's been populated...)...but that's R1G.

Wait: I just re-read through the schematic and found it...Okay: I need to lay off of the Merlot when building stuff on Saturday night.

4.32 it is.

Thanks, as always, for setting me straight, MisterX! Much appreciated!

Same for me except you can replace Merlot with Stoli.

I dunno why I was thinking R3G though.

Cheers, buddy!
