Just got this in today. Need to get a shorter optical cable, but I probably won't do that until friday.

really there is a setting on my windows media player for highest quality and its written as "Mathmatically lossless"?

What he was meaning is that currently there are no portable digital audio players that will play back files encoded using the Windows Media Professional version 9 Lossless codec. It's just another "mathematically lossless" audio compression format, but right now nothing will play it back for you except Windows Media Player. The files can't be taken with you, basically, unless you have something running Windows like a laptop.
