It comes with a micro usb cable to connect to your computer (using the micro usb from the E5). For phone use, you can connect it using an OTG cable or lightning cable from your phone to the USB host port on the E5
i have a pair of the original 400's and really like them, but they are pain to push. at work i have a sony pha-1 that is one of the few dac/amp combos that will bypass any apple on-device dac. it also pushes the hifimans very well and sounds great. sits well on the desk, and has a rechargeable battery for on the go. should be able to find one around $200, the dac will be an upgrade to whatever device you are plugged into.
