just bought this unit at best buy for my son ($140).

it seems perfect:
128 megs for $140 is decent price...plus:
FM radio w/presets
voice recorder
4 line lighted LCD
navigation possible (i think)....not just advance and rewind. firmware (upgradeable, too) for folders, etc.
includes decent earbuds (Senn300)
seemingly "high" powered
very small...nicely machined...cool factor
includes akaline battery, wrist strap.
doubles as disk on key, thumbdrive..whatever you want to call it.

i actuallly thought the price was wrong. iRiver has good reviews from their slimX, so hopefully sound quality will be good.

only problem: he won't get to open it untill next week!

the only thing that keeps me from making a decision is that the MuVo doesn't require any cords or cables. This thing kills it in my opinion, except for that one aspect.

The cable thing really doesn't bother me. It's actually an advantage if you're like me and have your computer tower tucked away behind your desk. Instead of having to get underneath the desk to plug in the player to the USB port, I can just leave the cable connected and accessible from where I'm sitting.
