Congrats on the HA5000! Nice looking amp. But now you need the obligatory W5000 on the HA5000 shot instead of all the other stuff lumped in! How would you describe the difference of the W5000 driven by the HA5000 relative to the other amps?

But, but...taking another photo would mean taking the W5000 off my head. I don't think I can do that yet. In fact, I don't think I can take off the W5000, ever.

Initial impressions of the W5000 paired with the HA5000 is increased airyness, a seemingly expanded soundstage and improved imaging. Treble notes sound crisper, while bass is tighter. Instruments sound more realistic. It's as if the W5000 "opened up" and the music is flowing through more smoothly.

The W2002 sounds very good, too. Both the W5000 and W2002 sound better with the HA5000 than with the Lehmann Black Cube Linear, or other amps I tried at the audio shop (CEC HD53R, Corda Aria, Corda HA2 MkII SE, Sugden Headmaster).

I plan to keep using the Lehmann BCL with the K701, HD650, and DT880.

So, do the Audio Technicas come with wine or does the wine come with headphones? And how does it taste?

Oh, where did you get the Audio Technica and Beyerdynamic headphone stands? Clear plastic back with the brand name on it, and a black wedge in front.

All those new toys just keep on "emerging" on Elephas' rack. Nice.

skudmunky, those photos were taken at an audio shop. I've seen the transparent plastic display stands used at several shops.

I think each ATH-W5000 or AT-HA5000 purchase in Taiwan includes a bottle of wine. I don't know if this promotion exists at other locations.

Patu, I don't expect anything else to "emerge" in the next few months. At least, my poor battered wallet hopes so.

Ah, I thought only the bottom picture in that post was taken at the audio store. Thanks for clarifying.

Sweet! Naaaaaaaaahice. How much does that set up cost? What CDs are those? I have the old Depeche Mode singles that look like that (I only have 4). I think I actually own every single CD they put out. (I have like 15 or 20 of their CD). I also have all of PetShop Boys. (singles and all) I would be interested to know what CDs you have. Trade info?
