This isn't really the best example because of it's limited colour pallette, but I'm amazed at how much these colourized Hubbel universe photos look like so many of the hand painted canvas portrait backdrops used by photographers. I have one I used for weddings that looks remarkably similar in both colour and design to the photo you've just posted. What's uncanny about this is that these canvases have had that look long before we started to see the Hubbel photos.

I just looked at the huge image of the 50,000 galaxies...all I can say is wow. I just wish I knew what some of those galaxies were so I could look at other pictures of them. Makes me realize how small we all are, and how much potential life is actually out there.
