In just a few minutes i am finally going to order my Pentax K110D

. But due to a price raise (€20,-) i cannot get the stock Pentax 18-55 along with it.

Having in mind that the shipping (from Luxembourg) will take around 1-2 weeks i have enough time to get a cheap "kit lens".

The first lens i saw which is around my tight budget is the:
Tokina AF 28-105mm F3.5-4.5 AS
tokinaAF28-105F3.54.5.jpg

It's about € 95.00

Anybody got some information about his performance.

Btw the availability of lenses is is very limited, i'll update my post when i see some other lenses.

I have found the Sigma 18-125 to be an exceptional value in the 3rd party utility zoom category. Surprisingly sharp from end to end. Slower than I would like, but that is the compromise.....

Good luck!

That is this one right?
[EDIT] oh wait, it ain't as your's starts at 18mm.
[EDIT2] LOL im blind! it even misses 20mm on the zoom end.

Sigma 28-105mm F3.8-5.6 ASF IF UC III
Sigma28-105mmF3.8-5.6ASFIFUCIII.jpg

€ 125.00

Its a bit pricier, anyone have experience with both ?

These two are all i can get within my area.
Sooo, it is either the Tokina, which looks and is priced best, the sigma or should i risk some financial problems and still buy the K110D with the Pentax 18-55 kit lens??

remember to consider any sensor multiplication. so if the k110d is like the nikons, the 28-105 would become equivilent of a 42-150mm in 35mm format. you may want something a little wider?

I do remember the 1.5 crop-factor, i can always buy the Pentax 18-55 or another wider angle at some time but i want to know if the Tokina or the Sigma is a better 1st lens at this moment.
