Just came across this interesting review on audiocircle, posted my mgalusha (also a member here): review linky
In it, he compares the Bugle and Cornet both to each other, and to his MuFi X-LPS. Ironic to have three of the four stages listed in your original post, including the one you own.

Seems Wayne of Bolder Cable modded his Bugle, but then after hearing the Cornet, built a Cornet of his own.
