Hi, based on positive reviews I've seen I am considering getting either the Somic V2 (I believe it is the same as the Status Audio OB-1, correct me if I'm wrong) or the Philips SHP9500S (same as SHP9500 but with a shorter cable). How do these compare and which would you recommend?
 
I am also open to suggestions of other full-size headphones that are around $50 or under

I hope it's not too late, but if I were you I would go with the SHP9500, because the build quality and comfort is horrible on the OB1. Also, status audio is ignoring all my emails about how they broke down so easily

If you can get a 9500S for $50 I would definitely do that. That is a terrific price for a very good headphone.

I have the same question, would like to know how the two compare. Very happy with my Status CB-1 but would like an open headphone to go with it.

the phillip is one of the most confortable headphone i used to this day, I try b&w p7, B&o h6, and some other stuff, while all the headphone sound good.  I like the comfort of philip

I agree with all the Philips suggestions! Good sound, GREAT comfort, and easy to drive.
