Anyone have any experience with Philips headphones? I've heard some favorable comments on the 890s and 1000s. On the other hand, I'm concerned about the fragility of Philips phones since I had a bad experience with the HS900s, and remember hearing about some trouble with the 890s also. But I like the Philips sound from what I've experienced, and I'll be in Europe in July where the selection is likely to be better than in the States.

Thanks.

Yeah, the Philips HP890 has trouble with build quality, on average it should last at least 2 years before anything happens, though.. and probably even longer if you don't abuse it. Apart from that, it's a ridiculously great bargain and it's the best unamped sound I've heard under 100 $/Euro.

The HP910 plays really well at low volumes; the pads take some getting used to as they are eggo shaped; does great with triangles, but is slightly coloured. Bought for $50 on EBay.
