Is this a common problem?

I received a replacement pair of PFEs and the right earphone is clearly louder than the other.

The replacement was for a similar problem in the original pair.

I removed filters and tips, listened in different ears, tried different sources, and asked another person to check and that person agreed. The difference is not subtle.

I know other threads mentioned the housing can crack but I JUST received this replacement pair and don't see any visible cracks.

Have many other people had this problem?

i had this problem with my PFEs and it ended up being the filter, but since you have checked that I would contact the manufacturer again. I ended up losing the PFEs and ordered the Westone 1 instead for about the same price.

If you've ruled out the obvious(filter, source, etc.) I think they need to go back. I'm on my third pair, replaced twice under warranty. I didn't have the imbalance problem, my first pair cracked and second pair suffered split cable at the housing.

I hope you experience the same great CS as I have with returns.
