It's my most used amp because it sounds so good (with everything I own), built so well, perfect form factor and battery life. Mind you I'm really liking this new valve amp but only time will tell. I mean I have a JDS c421, CMOY BB V2, RS Tomahawk, NX1, BW AP001 and the NX2 still gets the most play. This is my current # 1 kit

Excellent review Peter and I'm right there with you. The think I love the most about the Rockets are their even presentation across the entire sound spectrum, once I start listening with them I don't want to take them out/off

I'm not having a microphonics issue but as you can see I'm wearing mine over ear with the large Auri tips and they stay put. If they have a strong point it's in the mids as you say and vocals just engulf you. Like I said before I owe you one and was so happy when Steve had a pair for me (I think it was a lightning PayPal transaction)

Like I've said my next DAP purchase will be the Shanling M2 and I can't wait to hear the combination

I'm gonna use the NX2 with my old Z3Compact phone istead of getting a DAP. The battery life on the Z3C is really good and combined with the NX2 I'm hoping to reach about 20 hours play back time. The sixe oof the NX fits perfect behind the phone. I'm waiting for some new OTG cables since the NX2 uses mini USB and when they arrive I'll velcro the two devices together.

That should work nicely, I've never used the DAC side of my NX2 but I'm sure it is as nice as the amp! Really need to get some cable/s and try it sometime. I have to tell you when I saw you were going to velcro I kind of laughed because I could not wait for my stacking kit and did the same thing

TBH the Z3C sound really good on it's own but the 3.5mm jack broke on mine and it's not reperable (or very expensive) so it got early retirement. The power output was quite weak on it though.

Yes I've used them quite a bit with the NX2 and they work very nice together, smooth and non fatigue sounding.

I think that is awesome, I'm touring the Aune M2 DAP and B1 amp right now and I must say they are both very sweet on their own! Glad the NX2 is working out for you

So I dug up my last email with Steve at HiFiHeadphones and asked if he had a return on the 1 Plus of if the open box pair listed on their site was still available
