Any comments you have regarding wether you like it or hate it, wether you would switch from Diet or regular, would be most helpful!

Every poll response helps!

Thanks folks,

thanks BHD,

Thats totally cool of you.

Ask them how they think the deliveries are going, i.e do they have alot of it comin in on the trucks relative to the other stuff..

The sales data is only now starting to make itself known. Signs are indicating that it was actually weak thus far.

THe question is, why go for half the calories??? Im a strictly Diet COke/pepsi drinker... Id rather stick with 0 carbs than go for the equivalent of 5 teaspoons of sugar.

I guess the question is, how many people who are sugardrink drinkeres will actually give a care to switch down.

Quite honestly, i dont think they care anyway.

I wish the whole atkins craze would go away. the rest of the world must think america is totally nuts (beyond the obvious reasons).

Seriously, i dont think that C2 even taste that good.

Anyway thanks for your input folks and if you havent voted please do. 50 people is a great survey but more is better!

I will be quoting many of you in class and summing your general consensus.

I am suprised at the number of impartial people!! What do you drink???
Surely you drink some kind of softdrink

Thanks again folks,

Sean

If you wait long enough, it will. Probably not for the reason you think. The reason it'll go away is because people won't lose weight on it anymore. The reason for that is because there are more and more manufactured products designed for low-carb that either aren't (in the case of Pepsi Edge and C2), or that manage to be low carb while being loaded with calories. People lost weight on low fat diets at first too, because they were eating turkey and green beans. Then all the snacks came along, and the companies realized low fat crackers and cookies and chips taste nasty, so they added all sorts of fillers and pounds of sugar.

The same thing is sort of happening with low carb. One of the reasons the diet is easy to lose weight on is because there's only so much you can eat of the allowed foods. I could probably eat a pound of Doritos. But I can only eat so much bacon or cheese or steak before I'm done because it's so fatty and rich. That does two things. It helps keep you feeling full (because the fat is more satisfying/sticks with you longer/doesn't spike your blood sugar), and it helps keep your calorie intake down. Look at calorie content in something like a hamburger patty, or bacon, or cheese and then look at low fat triscuits, or a pop tart, or pizza.

A lot of people don't properly understand the Atkins diet, which is why it gets a bad rap. It's not JUST meat. If you are following it properly, you will be eating meat, cheese, nuts, eggs, berries, a whole ton of vegetables, and some fruit. It's a lot of whole and natural foods, compared to the junk most Americans eat. It may be my tinfoil hat, but I sorta think that Atkins is not given a fair chance BECAUSE it is a threat to the mega food corporations. It's a lot harder to build an empire on chicken than 91 different kinds of chips and crackers. There's not many ways to differentiate your product if you're selling lettuce or strawberries, as compared to breakfast cereals or pizzas. It's changing now because these companies are starting to make (and seriously profit, if you check the prices) low or reduced carb products as well but previously, there was no room in the Atkins plan for Kraft or Nabisco.
