anyone know why there is a need for the 3.5mm plug?
there seems to be only 4 cables, and we need minimum 4 cables for R (+/-) and L (+/-).
So why need the 3.5mm? for grounding purpose, wouldn't there be another cable for the shielding/grounding?
mmmmmm.....it seems the 3.5mm is of no 'electrical' purpose.
I have seen some boutique cable, with seperate 2.5mm TRRS and 3.5mm TRS, naturally the 3.5mm is for grounding.
