I do have info on that woofer. 7" unit, octagonal frame, rubber surround, plastic dust cap. Very smooth response up to 2 khz, with a bump at 4 k with a rapid rolloff. It is the driver used in the early DCM speakers as well. Not sure if they used a 4 or 8 ohm version. Got to be some around somewhere, but I don't know where. Maybe find some used Time Windows. I can pull a woofer out of one of mine and check, but you can't have it. Sorry. Do a web search on Amperex. That was the Philips driver line. I can email response curves and T-S parameters if you like.

There are some worthy replacements out there, and Madisound can indeed help you out. You should replace both if you want the voicing to match. The hole size and bolt pattern may be the challenge.

I would guess that they used a 1" soft dome tweeter in that cabinet. Round or square flange? Just curious.

Greg/Sovkiller...muchly appreciated, the lady from"Short fuse"
who's re coning my speakers just rang me. They're done. BUT,
I'm still VERY interested if you happen to come up with a good replacement suggest. My left Woofer passed peacefully away, there was no noise, although , it could have well been my error in use. I have been using a remote ON/OFF switch to turn all my recording gear on & off. I noticed that the woofer left didn't much like it and made a couple of "ouch, I dont like that !" type noises a few times.
cheers Dav.
if you guys would like a free copie of my classical guitar recording when it's finished, do let me know.

Hi Dav. Glad to hear that you will be operational again soon.

Hell yes on the CD! I love to listen to original music. I was once upon a time a musician, but gave up due to time constraints (grad school) an loss of interest in the instrument (trombone). I am very glad that I spent so much time at in my youth. It gives me a much broader appreciation of music and musicianship.

Let us know how the new-old drivers sound. Sov and I will look around for some good deals on good sound. I am also keen to find a source for old Philips drivers. I just know that there is a warehouse full of those things somewhere!

You're on guys. My recording will be a while yet. All tracks are my own transciptions for CLassical Guitar Duet and I'm playing / recording both parts. The colour booklet , I will also be doing. I'm an ex Art Director/ Graphic Designer. At a guess , the recording will most likely be finished end of year/ early new year. Hopefully in time for a Christmas gift for you. Interesting to hear you also play Greg.
cheers, Dav.

put me in the list for the CD, I'm a guitar lover, from Segovia, Paco de Lucia, Dimeola, Mc Laughling, Steve Howe, all of them, to Chaquico Liebert etc.....not very involved in clasical music, but I love spanish and clasical guitar, for me is an amazing instrument...if not the more complete and nice to the ears...
